Firm-Wide Technology
Intranet / Knowledge Management
We have an extensive intranet that provides a central resource for legal
practice, legal research, and dissemination of information across the firm. We
continue to invest in various knowledge management technologies to improve
attorney access to important information, and to leverage our extensive
collection of documents and work product stored in our document management
system.
Our extensive knowledge base includes specialized legal
research engines to search for internal content in the firm’s third-party
research library, virtual CDs, and web-based research tools from
Westlaw.com and Lexis.com.
Electronic Messaging
We are constantly reviewing new approaches and tools to provide the best
available email and electronic messaging technology and functionality for our
attorneys and clients. Virtually all of our attorneys and other professionals carry
Blackberry wireless devices that provide immediate access to email messages,
contacts and calendars, wherever they are.
Electronic Records Management
Our firm has invested in firm-wide electronic records management and document
imaging to increase productivity and consolidate access to important case
information in all document forms, including electronic mail. Important case
information is available to our legal teams anywhere at anytime.
Custom Applications
We have custom developed many firm-wide systems including our Firm Calendar
docketing system, Firm Contact Manager system and a client matter Practice Area
Information System portal. Our collaboration extranet platform was custom
developed, and is applied to all types of client matters.
Electronic Billing
The firm routinely works with clients to facilitate task-based electronic
billing systems to meet a wide variety of client requirements.
Client Extranets
The firm provides a variety of methods for clients to access their information
on firm systems, including matter status reports, closed transaction binders,
regulatory compliance training programs, document libraries, and case
information databases. We are particularly skilled and experienced in providing
in-house law departments with system development services to augment their
internal IS capabilities.
