Banking and Finance Litigation
Our Banking and Finance Litigation section
has a unique combination of industry knowledge and legal experience
in the many areas in which banks, brokerages, and other financial
services institutions may be involved in litigation. Our clients include
some of the nation's largest banks and institutional lenders (such as
US Bank, Bank One, General Electric Credit), and public and private
companies of all sizes.
Our attorneys have in-depth knowledge, not only of the
law, but also of the business of our financial services industry clients.
We have the combination of legal expertise and industry knowledge that
enables us to understand thoroughly technical issues and explain them to
the non-specialist judges, juries, or arbitrators who decide cases. This
combination helps our clients achieve excellent results in an efficient
manner.
Our experience includes
representation of financial institutions in class actions throughout the
United States over such issues as loan documentation or lending practices;
banks and other lending and financial services clients in cases involving
returned, forged, irregular and NSF checks; lenders seeking to realize on
collateral including foreclosure and replevin and to recover monies owed
by obligors and guarantors; and banks and other lenders who offer
traditional and non-traditional banking services when they are accused of
breaches of fiduciary duty, negligence, or other torts.
We have handled these matters locally, regionally,
and throughout the United States in state and federal courts, before
arbitration panels, and in administrative agencies or other tribunals.
Our Banking and Finance Litigation section has the
right combination of legal experience and industry knowledge whether your
matter is a specific local transaction or a complex nationwide lawsuit.
