Thompson Coburn earned high marks in The American Lawyer’s recently-published 2006 Mid-Level Associate survey. In its first year of participating in the survey, Thompson Coburn was ranked 31st in a field of 175 law firms of various sizes from across the U.S. More than 6,500 associates with three to five years of experience took part in the survey, evaluating their own firms in 12 areas. The survey covered a variety of topics, including training and guidance, relationships between associates and partners, benefits and compensation, billable hours policies, attitudes toward pro bono work and many others.

Thompson Coburn earned especially high ratings in several categories, including, “Management Openness” (4.45 on a scale of 1 to 5), “Overall Workplace Rating” (4.3), “Attitude Toward Pro Bono Work” (4.15), “Expected to Stay at Least Two More Years?” (4.15) and “Satisfying Work” (4.05).

The survey results position Thompson Coburn in the top 20 percent of firms included in the study, many of which are well-known for having high associate and partner satisfaction ratings.
