Thompson Coburn LLP is pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2008, Marjorie Krumholz was appointed Partner in Charge of the Firm’s Washington, DC office. Margie currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Firm’s Transportation practice and has more than 25 years of experience in transportation law.

“Margie has worked in our DC office for more than 20 years, and her strong leadership skills will help us continue to grow our presence in DC and enhance the success of our Firm as a whole. She is a splendid attorney with a wide range of skills, and I am looking forward to working with her in this additional capacity,” stated Firm Chairman Tom Minogue.

Margie’s practice focuses on maritime and equipment finance, including leveraged leases and Title XI and Ex-Im Bank projects. Her work also includes equipment sales and purchases and management and transportation agreements. Margie regularly counsels clients on regulatory matters before the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Maritime Administration, capital projects under the construction fund program of the Maritime Administration, and registration of ships in the United States and foreign countries. She is Secretary of the Marine Finance Committee of the Maritime Law Association of the United States (MLA) as well as Chair of the MLA’s Marine Finance Subcommittee on Coast Guard Documentation and U.S. Citizenship. She will remain fully engaged as an active practitioner while she serves as partner-in-charge of the office.

Margie replaces David Straus, who held the position for the past eight years as the Firm grew its presence in D.C. to nearly 30 attorneys. David will continue his practice as a partner in the DC office, focusing on utilities and postal matters.
