Mark Lenz Joins Thompson Coburn Fagel Haber

ST. LOUIS, MO—(February 7, 2008) We are pleased to announce that Mark Lenz has joined our Chicago office as a partner in the firm’s Public Finance and Real Estate practice groups. Formerly of Dykema Gossett PLLC, Mark has focused his practice on real estate, municipal and public finance law. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, and his client base includes local units of government as well as private sector developers seeking public financing to support private sector projects. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Michigan.

In addition, Mark was an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago for a period of nearly twenty years, advising the various City agencies and the Mayor's Office in their efforts to promote the economic revitalization and vitality of the City. For example, Mark represented the City of Chicago in the redevelopment and historic preservation of the Reliance Building and the Carbon & Carbide Building, both of which are registered as Chicago landmarks. He also created the legal documentation for the New Homes for Chicago Program, which involved municipal funding and providing other incentives for the development of low- and moderate-income housing.

A member of the Board of Directors of the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, Mark is also on the Advisory Committee on the Environment for the City of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Sierra Club, the Chicago and West Michigan chapters of the United States Green Building Council, and the Illinois Nature Conservancy.

Mark holds a J.D. from the University of Texas and a B.A. (magna cum laude) from the University of Michigan.
