ST LOUIS, MO—(January 17, 2008) Thompson Coburn LLP is proud to announce that Cherie Stephens Bock, Kimberly M. Eilerts, Laura M. Jordan, John S. Kingston, Steven M. Ritchey, Gayle L. Smith and Erick E. VanDorn have been elected to partnership in our firm effective January 1, 2008.

Cherie Stephens Bock is a member of the firm's Banking and Commercial Finance practice area. She has experience representing both borrowers and lenders in agribusiness lending, maritime financing, acquisition financing and asset-based lending transactions. Cherie also counsels financial institutions regarding bank regulatory matters, including mergers and acquisitions. She earned her J.D. (summa cum laude) from Saint Louis University School of Law and her B.S.B.A. from the University of Missouri—Columbia.

Kimberly M. Eilerts practices in the firm's Corporate Finance and Securities group. She has experience in a wide range of transactional and compliance matters. Her practice includes counseling clients in the areas of securities regulation and corporate governance. Kim’s experience in corporate transactions includes public and private offerings of debt and equity securities and acquisition and sale transactions. Kim holds a J.D. (Valedictorian) from Saint Louis University School of Law and a B.S. (summa cum laude) from Missouri State University.

Laura M. Jordan is a member of the firm's Labor and Employment group. She practices Human Resources law, focusing on representation of employers in employment law, employment litigation and immigration. Laura's practice includes representation of clients in state and federal courts and agencies on a wide variety of matters, including discrimination, retaliation, enforcement of covenants not to compete and business immigration. Laura holds a J.D. from Washington University School of Law and a B.A. (magna cum laude) from Illinois Wesleyan University.

John S. Kingston, who practices in the firm's Business Litigation group, represents corporations in complex business and regulatory disputes of all sizes. He also counsels businesses in compliance matters, including the creation and evaluation of compliance programs, and has defended individuals subject to securities fraud investigations initiated by both the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. John earned his J.D. (magna cum laude) from Boston University School of Law and his B.A. from Phillips University.

Steven M. Ritchey practices in the firm's Intellectual Property group. His professional experience includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications both domestically and internationally. His patent experience covers a broad range of technical disciplines, including agriscience, biotechnology, organic chemistry, fuel cell catalyst technology, silicon wafer technology, nuclear medical materials, polymer technology, solder alloys, and metal plating technology. Steven’s practice also includes preparing opinion letters regarding infringement and validity issues and freedom to operate. Steven earned his J.D. (cum laude) from Saint Louis University School of Law and his B.S. from Iowa State University.

Gayle L. Smith is a member of the firm's Real Estate group. She has experience representing real estate developers and financial institutions in a variety of complex real estate transactions throughout the United States. Gayle also counsels clients in the areas of commercial finance and real estate acquisition and development. Gayle holds a J.D. (cum laude) from Saint Louis University School of Law and a B.S.P.A. (magna cum laude) from the University of Missouri.

Erick E. VanDorn, a member of the firm's Railroad Litigation group, has experience in commercial litigation, railroad, toxic tort, insurance coverage and employment law. He has litigated in state and federal courts throughout the country, where he has conducted both jury and bench trials. Erick earned his J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Illinois College of Law and his B.S. (cum laude) from Eastern Illinois University.
