The summer program is coordinated by a team of attorneys and our human resources staff, who arrange numerous activities to provide broad exposure to legal work and practice at the Firm. Summer associates have the opportunity to attend closings, motion hearings, depositions and trials. The training program emphasizes development of practical skills in legal writing, research, professional ethics and responsibility, litigation, and computer technology. Summer associates experience a hands-on approach to the practice of law.
Flexibility is a key component of the program. Each summer associate is able to work on projects in a variety of areas, while at the same time encouraged to develop a deeper knowledge of the practice and people in specific areas of interest. The diversity of experiences, coupled with the availability of staff, library resources, and technology, ensure the summer associate's growth and development in an area that is professionally gratifying.
In addition to periodic meetings with program coordinators and one-on-one evaluations, each summer associate is assigned a partner and associate mentor to provide guidance and feedback.
