Pamela Meanes to Receive the Honorable A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr. Memorial Award

Firm partner Pamela Meanes will receive the 2009-2010 Honorable A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr. Memorial Award from the National Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. Named in honor of the prominent African American civil rights advocate, author and judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, each year the award is given to an attorney who exhibits legal excellence and who inspires young attorneys. It is the Young Lawyers Division’s highest award.
Pam will be presented with the award at the NBA’s Annual Junius W. Williams Awards Luncheon on August 10 in New Orleans as part of the NBA’s 85th Annual Convention.
Founded in 1925, the NBA is the oldest and largest national association of African American lawyers and judges. The NBA’s goals are to uphold the honor, integrity and diversity of the legal profession, and to protect Americans’ civil and political rights. Pam currently serves as Deputy General Counsel and Regional Director for Region VIII, which covers Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
