Senator Kit Bond to Address Senior Military Officers from around the World

March 29, 2011

Former U.S. Senator Kit Bond, a partner at Thompson Coburn LLP, will address senior military officers from 48 countries at the Naval Command College dinner in St. Louis on March 30.

The foreign military officers are visiting St. Louis as part of the Naval Command College (NCC) Field Studies Program. The St. Louis Council of the Navy League of the United States is hosting a reception and dinner--sponsored by Boeing, DRS Technologies and Webster University--in honor of NCC Class of 2011.

NCC is a part of the Naval War College located in Newport, Rhode Island. Each year, the U.S. Chief of Naval Operations personally invites senior grade military officers from around the world to participate in the curriculum in order to foster knowledge, friendship and cooperation among navies globally. NCC educates these officers in planning, decision making, strategic analysis, and naval and joint military operations. It also greatly strengthens understanding, and builds trust and confidence between American and international officers.

Following the dinner, Senator Bond, Navy League officials and NCC participants will hold a media availability on the importance of the NCC program to building strong military-to-military relationships around the world.
