Along with selecting partner Carl Rowley as a 2011 Legal Champion, Missouri Lawyers Weekly also named the firm’s St. Louis tobacco trial win the top defense verdict in Missouri last year.
The publication noted that the tobacco defendants avoided a $455 million verdict demand, thanks to years of hard work by TC attorneys Carl Rowley, Bruce Ryder, Sue Werstak, Booker T. Shaw and the other firms representing the defendants.
Missouri Lawyers Weekly ranks defense wins by taking the difference between a plaintiff’s demand and the actual verdict.
The publication honored Rowley and the other recipients of the Missouri Lawyers Awards at a Feb. 27 luncheon at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark.
