Missouri Lawyers Weekly has selected Corporate and Securities partner Kim Eilerts as a 2012 “Up & Coming” attorney award winner.
The awards honor attorneys who are under 40 or in the first 10 years of their legal careers. Judges culled through nearly 200 nominations and selected 50 winners.
Kim arrived at Thompson Coburn in 2001 and became a partner in 2008.
For more than 10 years, Kim has served as outside corporate counsel for Bunge North America Inc., assisting the company in the negotiation of strategic business acquisitions and the formation and operation of joint ventures. Her work for the company includes transactions in the quickly evolving biofuel industry. Bunge North America, Inc. is the North American operating arm of Bunge Limited (NYSE: BG), a leading global agribusiness.
She also has served as lead outside counsel on multi-million dollar deals for Aegion Corp. and Federal Signal Corporation.
Kim is a member of several firm committees, including the Associates Committee and the Employment Committee. As a member of Thompson Coburn's Women's Initiative Committee, Kim has helped plan TC’s annual Women's Event for the last five years. This year's event was held in early June at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.
Kim was valedictorian of her law school class at Saint Louis University and Editor-in-Chief of the school's law journal. She earned a B.S. in Business Management from Missouri State University.
In her free time, Kim enjoys playing golf with her son Connor. She also is an active board member of Progressive Youth Connection, a St. Louis nonprofit that provides violence education programs and offers counseling and support group services to kids.
Kim and other “Up & Coming” winners will be honored at an awards ceremony Sept. 13 in Kansas City at the Little Theatre in the Kansas City Convention Center.
