Pamela Meanes Wins National Bar Association Vice Presidency

August 11, 2011

Pamela Meanes, a partner in the firm’s Business Litigation group, was elected Vice President of the National Bar Association (NBA) during the organization’s National Convention held July 31 to August 4 in Baltimore. Founded in 1925, the NBA is the nation’s oldest and largest association of African American lawyers and judges. With more than 22,000 members nationwide, the NBA fosters increased access to legal careers, social justice and improved access to the legal system for African Americans. Running for a two-year term as vice president, Pam was named on 98 percent of ballots cast by the conference’s 600 attendees.  Pam has been named Vice President of Finance and will serve a two-year term ending in 2013 in that position.

Pam has served three times as Director of the NBA’s Region VIII – from 2007 to 2008, from 2009 to 2010 and from 2010 to 2011. Region VIII includes Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. Pam has resigned from the Regional Director position to take the NBA Vice President post. Also at the conference, Region VIII was named NBA Region of the Year for the second consecutive year. Congratulations to Pam on her successful campaign!
