Thompson Coburn’s Sweepstakes Law Blog published an exclusive interview this week with Liz Compton, chief of the Bureau of Compliance at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Compton agreed to a lengthy Q&A session with TC partner Dale Joerling, the editorial director of the Sweepstakes Law Blog, which has published 20 posts on various sweepstakes law topics since its launch in December.

In a three-part interview, Compton chatted with Joerling about the most common promotions mistakes her office has seen, how she arrived at the Division of Consumer Services after 15 years as a TV reporter, and the strangest promotion she’s ever encountered.

Compton also responds to specific questions about registration deadlines, prize values, and the material terms that must appear in any advertising copy for promotions in Florida.
