Thompson Coburn’s 401(k) plan earns high ranking in St. Louis

Thompson Coburn recently received top marks in an annual ranking of the St. Louis area’s best 401(k) plans.

Financial information company BrightScope recently reviewed the retirement savings offerings of dozens of St. Louis companies with 401(k) plans containing more than $100 million in assets. In its first appearance in the top 10, Thompson Coburn’s 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan cinched the No. 2 spot. The firm’s plan has 800 active participants and more than $161.3 million in plan assets.

BrightScope ranks each 401(k) plan on a 100-point scale after analyzing more than 200 data points, including total plan cost, company generosity and investment menu quality. Thompson Coburn earned an 85 ranking.

Highlights of Thompson Coburn’s plan, according to BrightScope:

  • - The plan is among the top 15% nationally for lowest plan costs and company generosity.
  • - The plan is among the top 15% nationally for plan participation rate, individual account balances and salary deferral per eligible participant.
