Thompson Coburn invites you to its fourth annual Labor, Employment & Benefits Breakfast. Just a few days into summer in Chicago, our human resources attorneys will blaze through a melting pot of sizzling topics highlighting important developments so that employers don’t get burned. A special focus this year will be given to changes for employers under the Trump administration, in addition to unique California employment law issues. Specifically, this interactive session will address:
Navigating Business Immigration – We’ll highlight and analyze the changes, proposed revisions, myths, and realities of employment-based business immigration in 2017, including the impact of President Trump’s executive orders, rule-making procedures, and congressional action.
California Employment Law – One of our Los Angeles office partners will provide an overview of California employment law to help companies avoid conflicting and confusing legal challenges under California Labor Code legislation.
NLRB Under President Trump – We’ll analyze what’s in store for the National Labor Relations Board under the Trump administration and review major decisions the agency has handed down over the past year that provide guidance on union avoidance and management.
ACA v. Trumpcare – A member of our employee benefits team will analyze some of the critical differences between Trumpcare and the Affordable Care Act and outline possible next steps in the showdown over health care reform
