Lewis focuses her practice on financing transactions involving federal and state new markets, historic, and low-income housing tax credits, and a variety of state tax credit programs. She has a nationwide practice representing investors, lenders, developers and community development entities in a wide range of projects and business investments. For five successive years, she was one of approximately 60 reviewers selected nationwide by the U.S. Treasury Department to read and score applications for new market tax credits allocations, which are awarded once a year by the federal government.
Among Lewis' most significant achievements is her work on the $700 million Ballpark Village Project. Lewis worked on the project since its inception and led all real estate and tax structuring for the deal on behalf of the joint venture formed by the St. Louis Cardinals and The Cordish Companies.
In her work on new market tax credits, Lewis has been instrumental in transactions that spurred the rehabilitation of some of St. Louis’ most important landmarks: the Old Post Office Building, the new Busch Stadium, the Sun Theater in Grand Center, and a plethora of historic buildings on Washington Avenue and throughout the Central Corridor.
Named an “Up & Coming Lawyer” by Missouri Lawyers Weekly in 2013, Lewis has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® and is a ranked attorney in Chambers USA.
Lewis earned her law degree from the University of California at Berkeley and obtained a B.A., with distinction, from Stanford University.
