Alan is Co-Chair of the Firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group. His practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property litigation, with a strong emphasis on patent litigation at both the trial and appellate court levels, and strategic planning of patent infringement suits.

His litigation experience includes significant work representing a diverse range of technologies, including telecommunications, computer networks, software, mechanical devices and business methods. Alan also has significant experience in inter partes and ex parte reexamination proceedings. Although in recent years his practice has concentrated in patent litigation, he possesses a wealth of experience in patent application preparation and prosecution, covering a wide variety of mechanical/electro-mechanical technologies, Internet-related patents and business method patents.

He has acquired a reputation for developing creative patent application strategies to enhance the business opportunities of clients. Alan's practice also includes the preparation of validity and infringement/right-to-use opinions and the preparation of license agreements.
