Tony Anderson practices primarily in the area of administrative law with particular emphasis in public transit, motor carrier, transportation financing, transportation labor and disability matters.
He has extensive experience with a broad range of issues arising during project development, including the drafting of procurement documents, compliance with Federal requirements, proposal review and consideration, bid protests, the negotiation of contracts, and the resolution of contract disputes. Tony addresses provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise requirements, Title VI compliance and Federal grant requirements generally. He also has more than 25 years experience negotiating agreements entered into pursuant to Section 13(c) of the Federal Transit Act. In addition, Tony works on a regular basis with procurement of transit equipment and service contracts.
He began his legal career as an honors attorney at the U.S. Department of Transportation. He then spent four years as an attorney-advisor on regulatory and legislative matters in the Chief Counsel's office of the Urban Mass Transportation Administration (now Federal Transit Administration). Prior to entering the private practice of law, Tony worked under the auspices of the American Political Science Association's Congressional Fellowship Program as a legislative fellow to U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg and, subsequently, as a legislative assistant to U.S. Representative Norman Y. Mineta.
