Lewis practices Human Resources Law, focusing on ERISA litigation. He also does general appellate litigation. His ERISA cases have included issues concerning redemption valuations for ESOPS, termination of retiree medical benefits, cash balance retirement accounts, alleged anti-cutback violations, and the scope of ERISA preemption. Some of his non-ERISA cases have involved alleged sexual discrimination and harassment, alleged age discrimination, the doctrine of equivalents in patent law, the scope of the Securities Law Uniform Standards Act (15 U.S.C. §78bb), and the validity of the St. Louis Gas Transportation Tax.

In his more than 50 years of practice, Lewis also has had considerable experience in corporate and securities law, alternative dispute resolution, and general business matters.
