Nick concentrates his practice in the firm's Corporate Tax Area, with a particular emphasis on tax exempt organizations, public finance, state and local tax matters and federal and state tax controversy. Nick has represented clients on state and local bond issuances, federal and state tax appeals on income, sales, property tax and other tax matters, and on various matters pertaining to tax exempt organizations, including public charities and private foundations.

Mr. Kappas received his LL.M. in taxation from Washington University in St. Louis and his law degree from New York Law School in New York City. Prior to joining Thompson Coburn LLP, Nick served as a law clerk for a federal magistrate judge in New York and practiced at a law firm in New York.

Nick is a member of Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Missouri Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
