Paul focuses his practice on employee benefits law and taxation. He has extensive experience in all aspects of employee benefit plans, including qualified and non-qualified deferred compensation and retirement income plans, stock option and other incentive compensation plans for both public and closely held businesses, merger and acquisition issues, and ESOPs (including the use of ESOPs in leveraged buy-outs). Paul also has experience in estate planning, particularly the area of business succession.

Paul is one of the leading practitioners in his field in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. He is a frequent speaker before both local and national professional and business groups. He is a charter Fellow in the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel.
