Peter Strassner is the co-chair of Thompson Coburn's environmental practice group. He has more than 25 years of experience in environmental law and handles a wide range of environmental matters. Peter represents some of the country's leading companies in environmental matters, including CERCLA cost recovery litigation, groundwater and hazardous waste litigation, natural resource damages claims, criminal defense work, environmental permitting and regulatory matters, insurance coverage litigation, dispute resolution and compliance matters. He counsels and litigates on behalf of transportation concerns, mining companies, agribusinesses, chemical manufacturers, developers, banks and petroleum companies.

Peter is a former chairman of the Environmental and Conservation Law Committee of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.  He is recognized for environmental law and/or environmental litigation in Best Lawyers in America®, Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers®, Super Lawyers® Corporate Counsel and Chambers USASuper Lawyers® has listed him three times as one of the top 50 attorneys in St. Louis and twice as one of the top 100 lawyers in Missouri and Kansas.  In 2010, he was inducted into the American College of Environmental lawyers as a fellow.  Peter was named the 2012 Environmental Law Lawyer of the Year in St. Louis by Best Lawyers in America®.  The same publication just recently named Peter the 2013 St. Louis Lawyer of the Year for Environmental Litigation.
