Bob’s practice emphasizes bankruptcy, loan restructuring, workouts and creditors’ rights litigation. His bankruptcy creditor representation presently includes national banking associations and state-chartered banks, as well as industrial concerns, creditors’ groups and individuals. Bob represents many clients as lead counsel of record in bankruptcy-related litigation. He actively engages in creditors' rights litigation including acting as lead trial counsel in defense of lender liability suits. He argued the case Hartford Underwriters Insurance Company v. Union Planters Bank, N.A. before the United States Supreme Court and obtained, in June 2000, a unanimous opinion in favor of the secured creditor. He has lectured extensively on secured creditors' rights, lender liability and other bankruptcy-related issues. Bob is a co-chair of the firm's Business Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors' Rights Practice Group.
