Ruth Streit focuses her practice on employee benefits law. She advises clients about all issues with respect to the design, implementation, qualification and administration of defined benefit pension plans, 401(k) plans and welfare plans; executive compensation; stock option and other incentive compensation plans; and plans for exempt organizations. She also provides counsel on employee benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions and in ERISA litigation. She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® (Copyright 2011 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, S.C.) and Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers®. In 2012, Ruth was named Best Lawyers' St. Louis Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law Lawyer of the Year.
Ruth has extensive business experience in the employee benefits field both from the practice of law and because of her previous position of Vice President of Compensation and Benefits for The May Department Stores Company. She has made professional presentations to the Employee Benefits Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the WEB Network of Benefits Professionals and other organizations. She has published articles on employee benefits topics in various publications.
