Heath represents clients in the Firm's railroad and toxic tort litigation areas in high-risk jurisdictions in Southern Illinois and Missouri.
As a member of the Firm's asbestos team, Heath defends asbestos cases in Madison County, Illinois, St. Clair County, Illinois, and St. Louis. Heath has nearly 20 years of civil and criminal litigation experience and served as State's Attorney for Washington County, Illinois, from 2012 to 2016. Heath has first-chaired seven jury trials, second-chaired two jury trials, and first-chaired multiple bench trials.
Heath also played a lead role in the drafting of successful summary judgment motions and appellate briefs for the Firm's railroad clients that resulted in the transfer of significant cases out of high-risk jurisdictions. See, e.g., Dawdy v. Union Pacific Railroad Co., 207 Ill.2d 167 (2003); McGinty v. Norfolk Southern Ry. Co., 362 Ill.App.3d 934 (5th Dist. 2005).
