With experience both in scientific research and in academic technology transfer, Susan assists in the drafting and prosecuting of patent applications as a Technical Advisor. Her scientific experience includes gene therapy, cellular and tissue biology, transplantation, regenerative science, biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, engineering, and immunotherapy.
Susan's technology transfer experience includes work as a fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Penn Center for Innovation, where she held leadership roles in managing evaluation and commercialization of technologies. She received a B.S. in Microbiology from Pennsylvania State University, a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan, and held a postdoctoral position at the University of Pennsylvania studying the immune response toward viral vectors used in gene therapy.
In recognition of this research, Susan was awarded a U.S. Patent and has received a number of other awards for her work, including a Young Investigator Award from the American Transplant Congress and the Sanjeev Kumar Excellence in Science Award from the University of Pennsylvania.
