For an industry undergoing unprecedented change, we continue to offer effective representation, practical advice and guidance to our banking clients. Our strength is in the cumulative experience we have gained since we began serving this industry in 1929. We work with some of the largest banks and bank holding companies in the United States, with regional and community banks located throughout the country, as well as with other types of financial institutions. We represent nine of the nation's top 10 bank holding companies and more than 35% of the top 50 institutions.
We have a nationwide regulatory practice counseling some of the largest financial institutions and regional and community banks. The lawyers in the group regularly interact with financial regulators, including the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the FDIC, the Federal Reserve, Office of Thrift Supervision, the SEC, FINRA and state banking regulators around the nation, and we maintain valuable contacts and working relationships with government officials in these agencies. Our regulatory experience also includes having assisted in the drafting of banking regulations and related legislation.
Our experience includes structuring, negotiating and documenting credit commitments, loan transactions, equipment leases, syndicated credits, participations and restructurings for clients in numerous industries. We also work within specialized areas of finance, including asset-based financing, dealer financing, maritime financing and agribusiness financing. Our representations have included transactions for the Export-Import Bank.
We also handle litigation matters for banks locally, regionally and throughout the United States in state and federal courts, before arbitration panels, and in administrative agencies or other tribunals.
