On August 28, Thompson Coburn’s Higher Education practice will kick off a new series of webinars focused on legal, regulatory, and policy issues impacting higher education. The monthly webinars will run through the entire 2018/2019 academic year and cover topics relevant to institutions of all types, including student litigation, new rules from the U.S. Department of Education, college sports law, and more. Each webinar will be hosted by Aaron Lacey and feature other Thompson Coburn practitioners who will share their unique experience and insights.
The first webinar, “Minimizing Litigation Risk As To Student-Related Disputes,” will focus on student litigation and feature Bill Bay and Jeff Fink, who have represented educational institutions facing lawsuits and arbitrations brought by former students, state attorneys general, and government regulatory agencies in multiple jurisdictions. Later episodes will topics such as Higher Ed and the November Elections, Student Finance and Loan Servicing, College Sports Law, First Amendment trends in Higher Ed, and more.
Each webinar is free and has been approved for Continuing Legal Education credit. Specific details will be released each month for the date and time of that month’s session.
