Aleks helps clients prepare for, safeguard against, and aggressively respond to cybersecurity breaches.
Her practice includes privacy breach response (pre- and post-event), payment card industry standards and investigations, advising on data privacy and security risk management, and class action privacy litigation.
When a breach occurs, Aleks assists in gathering and coordinating a team of experienced professionals, including forensics, public relationship, and notification vendors, to optimize response time and effectiveness. She has handled breaches for entities of all sizes and industries, including health care, retail, financial institutions, insurers, nonprofit institutions, municipalities, successfully managing public and regulatory scrutiny and protecting clients' reputations along the way.
Aleks' cybersecurity focus has its foundation in her representation of startups and closely held technology companies in a wide variety of commercial disputes, including intellectual property, trade secrets, federal labor law and contract disputes. She also brings a strategic advantage to the defense of class action litigation, having worked as a plaintiffs' attorney focusing largely on consumer data privacy class actions. Aleks' extensive experience in litigation provides a unique perspective in risk management planning, breach response, and class action defense.
