As part of his pro bono work, Jim has assisted member of a downtown St. Louis neighborhood to organize and begin effectively combating crime and quality of-life issues they face on a daily basis.
Jim practices in the firm's litigation area with an emphasis on land-use litigation, environmental contamination and product liability defense.
Recent efforts have focused on oil and gas surface and subsurface access, ground water contamination and the protection/renewal of urban neighborhoods.
He also has extensive experience in both individual and mass tort cases involving consumer products. He has appeared in both state and federal courts spanning the country from Minnesota to Texas and from California to New Jersey. On behalf of Thompson Coburn clients, he has challenged numerous federal administrative decisions, particularly those by the Bureau of Land Management.
Jim's advanced degrees in engineering and years of experience as a senior scientist at a major aerospace manufacturer give him special insights into technical and scientific issues.
