Katie Colvin’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademark, counterfeiting, and patent litigation for clients in diverse business sectors.

In recent years, Katie has particularly focused on trade secret and novel copyright issues in litigation — either cases of first impression, or questions that haven’t been examined for hundreds of years and therefore pose an entirely different set of challenges in bringing that caselaw current. Recent matters have involved intricate questions of trade secret damages law, and separately, the appropriate treatment of international copyrights under United States law.

A skilled investigator, Katie leaves no stone unturned. She never stops testing her own case, brainstorming and searching for any potential factual “nugget” that might open up a different area of litigation or discovery pathway for her client.

I love going to see live music. I particularly enjoy The Grateful Dead—or rather, its current iteration, Dead & Company, which features John Meyer playing in tribute of the late Jerry Garcia.
