As Loss Prevention Counsel, Kristine assists with new client openings and the conflicts process and helps implement effective loss prevention protocols across the Firm.
Working with the Firm's general counsel and assistant general counsel, Kristine investigates potential and actual conflicts of interests in regard to new and existing clients and firm employees. She assists with the new hire process for attorneys, quickly and efficiently examining client relationships so new attorneys can successfully transition their work to the Firm. Kristine also reviews external marketing content and collateral to ensure adherence to ethics rules across multiple jurisdictions.
Before joining the loss prevention department, Kristine spent nearly two decades as a litigator in complex state and federal litigation, representing companies facing a variety of disputes, including railroad FELA cases, franchise litigation, products liability, and multi-plaintiff litigation. For these complex matters, Kristine managed discovery, argued motions, and lead depositions of plaintiffs and expert witnesses. She frequently managed dozens of related cases simultaneously, and tracked deadlines, discovery dates, and critical differences between plaintiff claims.
Since 2005, Kristine has been active as a pro bono attorney for St. Louis-based Legal Advocates for Abused Women. She has represented more than 30 clients seeking protective orders for both adults and children. The Missouri Bar honored Kristine for her pro bono efforts by presenting her with its 2015 Pro Bono Publico Award. In 2013, Kristine received a Women's Justice Award for her efforts to support women attorneys in Iraq.
