Becky Christensen helps employers navigate issues of employment law, serving as a go-to resource on day-to-day workforce issues as well as investigations, training, strategy, and disputes.
Becky advises employers on their workforce policies, leaves of absence, and questions related to the ADA, FMLA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Missouri Human Rights Act and other state and federal laws. She has successfully defended clients in federal, state, and appellate courts, as well as before administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Missouri Commission on Human Rights, and the Illinois Department of Human Rights.
Becky has litigated cases involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and unfair competition. She also has extensive experience managing forensic investigations and large ESI/document review projects.
In helping employers proactively ensure compliance and avoid disputes, she advises on employee discipline and termination, workplace safety, employee handbooks and agreements including restrictive covenants, and disability accommodation requests.
Before joining Thompson Coburn, Becky was a shareholder at a global law firm focused on labor and employment matters.
