Renée has established a 32 year litigation career.
Her experience includes analysis and preparation of document productions, review of documents for deposition preparation, compiling exhibits for motions and cite checking. She drafts exhibit lists, witness lists, discovery, production and privilege logs. She performs expert research and all aspects of trial team support, including attendance at trial. Renée mentors others.
Renée has extensive experience supporting complex litigation. Before her work with Thompson Coburn's intellectual property practice, she served for nine years as a paralegal in the firm's tobacco litigation group. In this position, Renée developed all the skills necessary to manage high-stakes litigation across a variety of practice areas including product liability, personal injury, medical malpractice, toxic tort, and commercial and workers' compensation cases. Renée was the paralegal responsible for support in a mass tort lawsuit by twenty-eight plaintiffs arising out of a workplace shooting that included claims of wrongful death, personal injury, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Renée joined the Business Litigation practice area to support the agricultural litigation and the product liability practice area.
In addition, Renée supervised approximately 15 paralegals, practice area assistants and litigation clerks. She was responsible for staffing projects, managing productivity, providing continuing legal education, and recruiting and interviewing potential hires. In 2009 Renée was nominated as Paralegal of the Year by the St. Louis Association of Legal Assistants.
