Susan is a paralegal in the business litigation department.
She assists the attorneys in all aspects of business litigation from the first meeting with a potential client through trial and appeal. Some of the tasks Susan performs include preparing discovery requests and responses, reviewing and preparing documents for production, creating and maintaining electronic databases, preparing for depositions, hearings, trial, arbitration and mediation. She performs legal research, cites checks briefs, drafts pleadings and discovery, prepares deposition outlines, identifies and organizes exhibits, and assists with trial preparation and trial.
Susan also works in the firm's intellectual property practice area. She drafts and files documents with federal and state trademark offices as well as the copyright office, including new applications, responses to office actions, statements of use, extension requests, assignment changes and renewal applications. She also researches national trademark databases and works closely with clients.
