Emaline

Emaline Edson supports clients in complex litigation matters through legal research, analysis, and written advocacy. Her experience includes preparing memoranda on tort defense issues, assisting with pretrial litigation strategy, and gaining firsthand exposure to court proceedings and depositions.

Emaline earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. During law school, she served as Senior Articles Editor of The University of Memphis Law Review, published her law review note, competed successfully in national appellate advocacy and moot court competitions, and worked as a research assistant. She received numerous academic honors, including CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in several subjects and awards recognizing excellence in legal writing and oral advocacy.

Prior to joining Thompson Coburn LLP, Emaline served as a judicial extern to Judge Andre Mathis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, where she conducted legal research and drafted memoranda analyzing appellate matters. She also gained in-house legal experience as a law clerk for ALSAC – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, supporting counsel on employment, privacy, marketing, and other legal issues. Earlier in her career, she completed a legal internship with the American Civil Liberties Union, focusing on research related to Missouri’s juvenile justice system.
