Joseph Scott is a solution-oriented litigator with broad experience prosecuting and defending commercial disputes. He efficiently solves his clients’ business litigation problems with creative motion and discovery strategies, whether aiming for early resolution or trial.
Joseph represents companies and individuals in commercial, real estate, lending, and business divorce matters. Always striving to deliver real value, Joseph has guided his clients to favorable early resolutions, achieved dismissals on the pleadings, and successfully defended actions on summary judgment. His practice also includes employment defense, where he has secured complete defense awards against wrongful termination, retaliation, and discrimination claims on summary judgment and at arbitration. Beyond the courtroom, Joseph advises clients on evolving legislation and regulatory developments, offering practical guidance to help clients understand and manage risk, and importantly, remain focused on running their business.
Before joining the firm, Joseph practiced at a boutique firm focused on commercial, insurance, and professional liability litigation.
Joseph began his legal career as a clerk for the Hon. Stuart M. Rice of the Los Angeles Superior Court. He further refined his skills in the court’s coverage department, where he drafted tentative rulings for over 30 independent calendar judges. In 2020, he was appointed to a pioneer task force responsible for issuing legal and constitutional guidance to the California courts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
