Megan Williams represents state and local governments, public agencies, underwriters and other financial institutions in a broad range of tax‑exempt and taxable financings.
Her work includes serving as bond, disclosure, and underwriter’s counsel in publicly offered, negotiated, and privately placed transactions. Megan routinely represents cities, counties, school districts, fire and ambulance districts, sewer districts, utility agencies, and other municipal issuers, as well as underwriters and other financial institutions.
Megan has experience structuring and executing financings involving general and special obligation bonds, revenue bonds, certificates of participation and direct leases, among others.
Before joining Thompson Coburn, Megan practiced at a national public finance firm, where she supported municipal bond transactions across Missouri and the Midwest. Prior to attending law school, Megan served eight years in the U.S. Navy as an F-14 Radar Intercept Officer, flying combat missions in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
