Mike Lause focuses his legal practice on public finance, corporate law, business transactions, governmental, and nonprofit law.

Parlaying his extensive experience in governmental and public finance matters, Mike often serves as clients’ relationship counsel, for clients such as state and local governmental entities, financial institutions, universities, cultural institutions, and other corporate and business entities.

Mike’s government finance work entails heavy involvement at the state and federal levels.

Mike also counsels businesses on general corporate matters, and functions as their point person within the firm for legal issues that arise on certain political and governmental matters. As he has been with some clients for more than three decades, many also rely on his intimate institutional knowledge of their own businesses.

In leadership roles at the firm, Mike is a former member of the Executive Committee and also chaired the corporate and public finance and public law departments.

Over the years, some projects have involved the intersection of finance, governmental law and relations, and sports. It has been particularly rewarding to have worked on the financing of the development of St. Louis baseball, football, and hockey facilities as well as other sports-related projects in different venues.
