Rachael Moore’s experience spans the gamut of civil litigation, from pre-suit investigation to jury trials and appeals. Her work ethic and determined attitude make her a valuable member of litigation teams. She has served as a key team member in high-stakes litigation, including multi-million dollar jury trial teams.
Rachael matches her practical litigation skills with strong legal writing. Partners and clients trust Rachael for her attention to detail and ability to turn complex facts and legal arguments into simple, easy-to-understand briefs. Rachael has experience as the primary brief writer for complex motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and appellate briefs.
Rachael is involved in the firm’s state and local tax (“SALT”) group, representing clients before Missouri state and local taxing authorities in sales/use and property tax matters. Rachael has represented taxpayers before the Missouri State Tax Commission and Administrative Hearing Commission, litigating property tax overvaluation and misclassification claims and litigating sales and use tax exemption, refund, and erroneous assessment claims. She is also a member of the Institute of Professionals in Taxation (IPT).
Rachael’s passion and commitment to clients is best exemplified by her pro bono practice. Rachael recently played a large role in the high-profile release of Christopher Dunn, who was exonerated after serving thirty-four years in prison for a murder he did not commit. Rachael’s work included conducting the direct examination of the key expert witness and fact witness and briefing appellate issues in front of the Supreme Court of Missouri. Rachael has also represented convicted persons in Section 1983 litigation and represented St. Louis residents facing eviction in landlord-tenant disputes.
