Sarah Capungan represents and advises financial services institutions and other businesses in complex commercial disputes.

Sarah’s practice spans a wide range of commercial disputes arising from lending relationships and fiduciary obligations. She represents clients in federal and state court on a variety of matters, including actions involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, conversion, and fraud. Her work also encompasses judgment enforcement and pre-litigation counseling, including advising of risks, liabilities, and the viability of potential claims against adversaries.

Prior to joining Thompson Coburn, Sarah was a commercial litigation associate at midsize law firms in New York and Connecticut. In those roles, she represented companies in federal and state court in a variety of complex commercial disputes. She also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Judges of the Connecticut Superior Court, where she researched and drafted memoranda of decision on a variety of civil litigation matters.

I enjoy being active and spend most of my mornings at the gym or at workout classes. I also enjoy live music, traveling to off the beaten path destinations, and spending time outdoors with my partner and dog—a 65 lbs hound/pitbull mix.
