Sara Chamberlain’s practice encompasses all areas and aspects of environmental law. She builds meaningful relationships with her clients, helping them identify, navigate, and respond to environmental risks and liabilities, while also advancing their business objectives.
With a keen appreciation of the difficulties companies face in navigating ever-evolving restrictions on their ability to operate, Sara provides thoughtful and proactive counsel on compliance and risk avoidance measures. She also regularly represents and defends clients in environmental litigation, administrative, and regulatory enforcement proceedings, including those involving the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, CERCLA, RCRA, FIFRA, TSCA, and their state law counterparts.
Clients rely on Sara for assistance in investigating, understanding, and assessing potential environmental risks and concerns in real estate and other transactional matters, including obtaining and interpreting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and transferring environmental permits. She also has experience in responding to EPA information requests, navigating endangered species and wetlands related issues, (e.g., National Environment Policy Act compliance and Section 404 permitting), and advising clients on PFAS and ESG related issues. Sara has also provided strategic representation and defense for clients in a variety of toxic tort, products liability, and general business litigation matters.
The breadth of Sara’s environmental practice is perhaps her biggest strength and differentiator. Whatever the issue, whether it involves air, land, water, waste, climate, chemicals, agriculture, or even endangered species, Sara will work to craft a thoughtful, client-focused strategy.
