As Risk Management Counsel, Shelby Fuchs works to identify and mitigate ethical conflicts and other risks for the firm.
Before joining Thompson Coburn, Shelby built a strong legal foundation in public service and private practice. She previously worked as an Attorney-Advisor at the National Endowment for the Humanities, focusing on federal ethics laws. At the start of her career, Shelby worked as a Litigation associate at a firm in Northern Virginia and served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Randy I. Bellows of the Fairfax County Circuit Court.
Shelby also dedicated time to public service and advocacy. In law school, she worked in the William & Mary Law School Immigration Clinic, interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, the disAbility Law Center of Virginia, and in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in the Office of Commissioner Samuels in Washington, D.C.
I love reading contemporary fiction, baking bread and new desserts, and hiking through Virginia’s parks. You will often find me watching Survivor or cheering on my favorite teams – the Florida Gators, the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Green Bay Packers.
