In a recent Law360 article, Thompson Coburn Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy partner Mark Indelicato comments on how recent tariff changes are contributing to companies’ decisions to file for bankruptcy, as they struggle to plan for the future.
“When the tariffs finally hit, or even the specter of tariffs, it is enough to shake some of these businesses to their very foundation,” particularly when coupled with immigration raids amid a labor shortage, Mark said.
Stressed companies may feel that now is the right time to restructure or find a buyer while they still can, but the timing can be tricky.
