A tenacious advocate for his clients, Sartouk Moussavi’s technological and legal knowledge, in tandem with his prior business experience and creative thinking, informs his counsel to clients on their IP needs.
Sartouk centers his counsel on his clients’ business goals. Whether it is enforcing patents in litigation, defending against allegations of infringement, obtaining protection for clients’ IP, analyzing the value of IP in a transaction, or anything else – the client’s objectives shape the effective legal solutions Sartouk provides. He eschews a cookie-cutter approach to intellectual property needs, treating each matter on a case-by-case basis and using innovative solutions to deliver. Clients trust him to offer an honest assessment in all situations, even when it may not be the answer they would have liked to hear, because they know he always seeks to protect their interests.
Sartouk advises companies of all sizes, on all aspects of IP, in consumer tech, consumer products, software and digital applications, social media, telecommunications, gaming/entertainment, and artificial intelligence. His electrical engineering degree and prior work for a tech startup give him insight into how IP plays an important role, both offensively and defensively, for businesses that innovate. Sartouk litigates in the federal courts throughout the U.S and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and has significant experience vigorously defending clients sued by non-practicing entities (sometimes referred to as “patent trolls”). He uses his focus in design patents to protect his clients’ designs, and enforces patents, along with copyrights and trademarks, against infringers on online marketplaces and also conducts IP due diligence for companies involved in mergers and acquisitions. Sartouk also oversees foreign patent prosecution and enforcement for clients with such needs.
