Business Litigation Practice Group

Litigation Associate - Los Angeles

Thompson Coburn is seeking an associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its business litigation section in the Los Angeles office. We are seeking candidates with exceptional research, analytical, and writing skills in addition to a detail-oriented mindset. Candidates must have strong academic achievement and the ability to function both independently and within a team environment. Prior litigation experience in state and/or federal court in California is a requirement.

This position is open to recruiters. 

The salary range for this position in our Los Angeles office is $195,000-$220,000. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range based on relevant skills, training and other job-related factors. The range listed is just one of Thompson Coburn’s total compensation and benefits package for associates, which includes productivity and discretionary bonuses; life, health, accident and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.

Litigation Associate - New York

Thompson Coburn Hahn & Hessen is seeking an associate with 3-4 years of relevant legal experience to join its business litigation section in the New York office. We are seeking candidates with exceptional research, analytical, and writing skills in addition to a detail-oriented mindset. Candidates must have strong academic achievement and the ability to function both independently and within a team environment. Prior commercial litigation experience in both state and federal court in New York is a plus.

The salary range for this position in our New York office is $200,000-$225,000 for a candidate with this level of experience. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, training and other job-related factors. Thompson Coburn is seeking an attorney with 2-5 years of complex litigation experience to join its St. Louis office. The ideal candidate will have a track record of professional success, strong critical thinking skills, and a desire to work in a team environment.  Federal court, or other complex litigation experience, is preferred.

Corporate & Securities Practice Group

Employee Benefits Associate - St. Louis, Chicago, or Dallas

Thompson Coburn is seeking an attorney with 2-6 years of employee benefits experience. The ideal candidates will have experience working with qualified retirement plans, self-funded health and welfare plans, exceptional academic achievement, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to function both independently and within a team environment. Expertise in non-qualified plans is preferred but not required.  An LL.M. degree in tax is a plus.

Finance Practice Group

Commercial Finance Associate - Chicago, Dallas, or Washington D.C.

Thompson Coburn is seeking an attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial lending, real estate, and/or mergers and acquisitions to join its tax-advantaged finance practice. Experience with tax-advantaged investments is preferred but not required.

The practice is an active and diverse commercial finance practice with a focus on tax-credit subsidized equity and debt financings. Transactions are multi-faceted, often involving public/private partnerships with two or more sources of debt financings and multiple equity investors. The successful candidate will be an outgoing self-starter who can quickly take an active role in the documentation, management and closing of these transactions and will be expected to work closely with all transaction parties, including banks and other financial institutions, private equity firms, state and local governments, and their respective counsel.

Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Group

Bankruptcy Counsel - Dallas

Thompson Coburn is seeking an attorney with at least 5 years of bankruptcy litigation experience to join the Dallas office as counsel. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a case from inception to trial, including supervision of junior attorneys. Candidates must have strong analytical and writing skills, a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to function both independently and within a team environment. Bankruptcy clerkship experience is a plus.

Health Care Associate – St. Louis

Thompson Coburn's corporate health care practice area is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its St. Louis office. The position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of corporate transactions and regulatory matters for health care organizations, including health care systems, hospitals, health insurance companies, long term care providers, physician practices and other health care-related businesses. Candidates may expect a hybrid working environment consistent with Firm policy for associate attorneys. 

Ideal candidates will have 5-7 years of experience working on regulatory and corporate transactional matters in the health care industry and an in-depth understanding of Fraud and Abuse, Stark, Medicare reimbursement, hospital-physician relationships, provider-payor relationships and HIPAA.
