Thompson Coburn associate Alex Rahn has been named a finalist for the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) Rising Star Award. Selected from a global membership of more than 2,500 professionals, Alex is one of only five finalists recognized for this prestigious honor.
The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, made extraordinary contributions to IWIRC and its networks, and advanced the organization’s mission through meaningful impact and service. The winner will be announced at IWIRC @ NCBJ in October, where all five finalists will be honored.
Alex is a financial restructuring and bankruptcy attorney in Thompson Coburn’s Dallas office. She represents clients in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings, complex commercial disputes, and bankruptcy-related litigation. Her experience spans representation of debtors, trustees, secured lenders, unsecured creditors, equity holders, and asset purchasers, as well as bankruptcy appeals and directors and officers (D&O) liability matters.
A dedicated IWIRC leader, Alex currently serves as Co-Chair of the IWIRC DFW Network after serving as chair in 2025. Throughout her involvement with the organization, she has prioritized creating opportunities for women to build meaningful connections within the restructuring community. Her innovative programs have included a high tea event with TMA NOW, a guacamole-making competition featuring Northern District of Texas bankruptcy judges, and a “Jeopardy! Bankruptcy Edition” panel for the Dallas Bar Association. These initiatives reflect her commitment to mentorship, engagement, and increasing visibility for women entering the profession.
