Thompson Coburn has been retained as lead Committee Counsel in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of Hansen-Mueller Co., a Nebraska-based agribusiness company, reflecting the strong experience of the firm’s Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy team and particular proficiency in the agricultural sector.

The seven-member Creditors Committee, including Bunge Canada, AG Mark LLC, CoMark Equity Alliance, Alliance AG & Grain LLC, Chisholm Trail Terminal, AG Valley Co-op and Lagniappe Planting Company, selected the firm as Committee Counsel after a rigorous, highly competitive interview process. New York-based attorneys Mark Indelicato, Mark Power, Joseph Orbach, and Jake Schwartz developed a comprehensive outline of issues critical to the Committee’s work, which set the stage for their selection to the role.

Hansen-Mueller operates a diversified nationwide grain merchandising and processing platform and employs approximately 120 people across Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and Ohio. On November 17, 2025, the company filed a voluntary petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nebraska seeking Chapter 11 relief. The Creditors Committee duties include represent the interests of all unsecured creditors by consulting with the debtor, investigating its financial condition and business operations, working to maximize the value of assets of the debtor’s estate and participating in the formulation of a reorganization plan. The Committee serves as a check on the debtor’s actions and frequently hires attorneys or other professionals to represent the Committee in the bankruptcy case.
