This July, Thompson Coburn celebrates five years in New York, marking a milestone that reflects the continued success and growth of the firm’s combination with Hahn & Hessen in 2021. The combination established Thompson Coburn’s New York presence and expanded the firm’s ability to serve financial institutions, lenders, and businesses nationwide.
Today, the New York office is home to 77 professionals and continues to grow.
In June alone, the office welcomed two lateral partners and two associates, further strengthening key practice areas.
Among the recent additions are Craig R. Haughton, who joined the firm’s Financial Services and Business Litigation practices, and Matthew A. Brown, who joined the Labor & Employment practice. Their arrivals reflect Thompson Coburn’s ongoing investment in strategic growth and its commitment to attracting top talent in the New York market.
The combination, which took effect on July 1, 2021, brought together Thompson Coburn’s national platform and Hahn & Hessen’s nearly century-long experience serving financial institutions and other financial market participants, laying the foundation for the office’s success today.
Over the past five years, the New York office has become an integral part of Thompson Coburn’s national platform, building on Hahn & Hessen’s longstanding legacy while expanding collaboration across the firm. What began as an exciting new chapter has evolved into a thriving office that continues to deliver sophisticated counsel, exceptional client service, and sustained growth.
To commemorate the occasion, our Thompson Coburn team took the opportunity to reflect on the office’s growth over the past five years and share their perspectives on the impact the Thompson Coburn and Hahn & Hessen joining has had on the office, its clients, and the firm as a whole.
