Thompson Coburn is pleased to announce that Matthew A. Brown has joined the firm’s Labor & Employment practice as a partner in its New York office. His arrival builds on the firm’s ongoing expansion of its national Labor & Employment team.
Brown brings more than a decade of experience advising employers on high-stakes litigation, including wage and hour, discrimination and harassment, and breach of contract and restrictive covenant matters. He has extensive experience litigating class and collective actions in federal and state courts and has appeared before administrative agencies such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, and the U.S. and New York State Departments of Labor.
“Matt understands the pressures employers face today, and his ability to translate that into clear, practical guidance makes him a valuable addition to our team,” said Mark Indelicato, managing partner of Thompson Coburn’s New York office. “His arrival strengthens the momentum behind our growing Labor & Employment capabilities, both in New York and across our national platform.”
The Labor & Employment practice also recently added associates Paul Tsenesidis and Cooper Binsky in New York and Devin Hayes in St. Louis.
In addition to his litigation practice, Brown counsels employers on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including employment agreements and handbooks, disciplinary matters, and general risk mitigation. He represents clients across industries, including food service, building service, construction, transportation, automotive, trucking, retail, and warehousing.
Brown shares updates and tips for employers through his presence on social media platforms as “The Bosses Lawyer” (@the_bosses_lawyer), covering workplace laws and practical insights.
“Thompson Coburn’s national reach and collaborative culture create an ideal platform for the kind of employer-focused work I’m passionate about,” said Brown. “I’m eager to partner with my colleagues to help clients in New York and beyond navigate workplace challenges and defend their interests.”
Brown earned his J.D., cum laude, from Hofstra University School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor of the Hofstra Labor & Employment Law Journal. He also holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan. He joins from Milman Labuda Law Group PLLC, where he was a partner representing employers in complex workplace disputes and compliance matters.
